Sunil Lahri Demands Strict Action Over Alleged Theft of Donations at Ayodhya Ram Temple, Calls Incident Deeply Shameful

Sunil Lahri expressed his anger through a video posted on his official Instagram account, where he directly addressed the incident and its impact on public faith and religious sentiment. Lahri described the alleged theft of offerings, reportedly amounting to crores of rupees, as a deeply disgraceful act. He stated that it was shocking to see that those entrusted with safeguarding the temple could allegedly become involved in misconduct against devotees’ trust. He further emphasized that such actions represent a serious betrayal of faith and the sentiments of millions of worshippers.

Calling for strict punishment, the actor urged authorities and the legal system to ensure that the accused receive the harshest possible penalty. He stated that the punishment should be severe enough to serve as a lasting deterrent, suggesting that consequences should be so strict that they are remembered for generations. He further remarked that strict examples from other countries, where severe punishments are imposed for theft, should be considered to prevent similar incidents in the future.

In the same video, Lahri opened his message with traditional greetings and expressed reverence toward Lord Ram and Sita, before moving on to express his concern over what he described as a painful contradiction where protectors of a sacred space are allegedly involved in acts that harm devotees’ trust. He reiterated that the incident represents a serious violation of public faith.

He also shared a written caption alongside the video on Instagram, in which he referred to a prophecy-like reflection attributed to Lord Ram speaking to Sita, suggesting that such a difficult era would arrive in which those responsible for protection would themselves become a source of harm and betrayal toward devotees. He reiterated his demand for strict and exemplary punishment for those found guilty in the Ayodhya temple donation theft case.

The controversy continues to draw strong reactions, highlighting concerns over trust, security, and accountability in the management of religious institutions, while authorities are expected to proceed with further scrutiny of the matter.
